Common questions
What counts as an emergency?
A burning smell or scorch marks at the panel, sparking or arcing, a buzzing outlet, water in or on electrical equipment, a downed service line, a breaker that will not stay set, or no heat in a hard freeze. Any of those, call.
What can safely wait until morning?
One dead outlet or switch with nothing hot, burning or wet. A single light fixture out. A GFCI that trips but resets and holds. Air conditioning out in mild weather. Worth fixing, not worth a night call.
What should I do before you arrive?
If you smell burning, see smoke, or someone has been shocked, get out and call 911 first, then call us. Otherwise stop using the affected circuit and leave the panel alone until we are there.
A storm took the power out. Can you help?
When lines come down across the valley, restoring the utility feed is the power company’s job and everything on our side queues behind it.
